Sunrider Malaysia Participates in MRCA Charity & Carnival Run 2017
GLOBAL NEWS, Good Works
Sunrider Malaysia once again took part as a co-sponsor in the MRCA Charity & Carnival Run 2017, held on November 26, 2017, at Sky Park One City Mall, Selangor, Malaysia. Now in its fourth year, the Charity Run, themed “Care, Share & Run,” attracted over 3,000 avid runners who participated in individual and team events.
Organized by the Malaysia Retailer Chain Association (MCRA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, along with major retailers, the event’s primary aim was to raise funds for the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation. The foundation serves to provide educational assistance to those in need and assist other charitable activities for the betterment of the community. Guest of Honor, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. M Kayveas, President of the People's Progressive Party and Special Advisor to the Minister of Transport, was on hand to greet the participants, flag off the run, and mingle with the enthusiastic crowd.
Sunrider participated in the “Team Run” category with four runners covering one kilometre each. Sunrider also sponsored a booth, where staff served Fortune Delight® and SunBars. It was a great opportunity to introduce these best-selling products to the participants who were hungry and thirsty after their run. Sunrider staff took the opportunity talk to the runners about the benefits of consuming these naturally healthy herbal products. VIPs and their entourage were also treated to these refreshments before posing for a photo session at the booth.
In addition, a carnival for underprivileged children from the many charitable bodies was held. About 550 kids were treated to a fun-filled day of games and scrumptious foods at this carnival.
The Sunrider logo was prominently displayed on the Start/Finish arch as well as the photo board. With a total of RM100,000 received in donation, the event garnered wide media coverage resulting in many news articles appearing in top newspapers. The day ended with the presentation of checks from the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation to ten charitable homes for children and the needy.
